A C O L O U R F U L E X I S T E N C E

I am very influenced by the beautiful place I am lucky enough to call home, taking inspiration from the vivid and varied flora and foliage found in North Devon and surrounding areas. This is a theme that I constantly revisit and rework, paying homage to my life long love of colour and admiration of all that nature has to offer.

My work is a joyful expression of colour, pattern and movement, celebrating the vibrancy of flowers and plant life. I take a playful approach to exploring this subject matter, often painting completely from my imagination and allowing my bold colour choices to lead.

I work primarily in acrylics, exploring the medium’s range of properties and enjoying being pushed to work quickly, building up the layers in an exploratory way. More recently I have started producing mixed media work, combining collage with watercolour, gouache and metallic pigments.

My paintings are highly chromatic, individual, and part of a very personal aesthetic; one that is not about fitting in but instead about standing out. A bold choice to spread joy and happiness through vivid colour.
